Israel has its unique enchanting beauty.

Previously Israel to me had only conjured up images of stony desert land.

But to have walked it made me realise it exudes its own beauty full of vivid and vibrant colors, abundant and beautiful natural surroundings…

One notable image (or lesson) this trip brought to me is about the Israeli hills.

They rise up and have a flat top. They are so hugh that at its base, great villages or towns from far paled as miniature clusters against the giant hill backdrop. It gives me a degree of comprehension when God says in the Bible that “the cattle on a thousand hills are mine”. Of course that means the cattle as well as the hills on which the cattle pasture on, belongs to Him. That (based on what I realise in above scene) is a lot of “real estate” for the purpose of our human comprehension!

There are plenty of choices but there only some where our heart and mind will resound with excitement and anticipation!

Not all places are the same to everyone.

From the photographic point, I like lighthouses, sunflowers, roses, lobsters (nice to see and also good to eat!), fruits and country scenes.

These pictures started in the year 1999 when I first borrowed an SLR camera from my brother. Before that I had used the ubiquitous compact camera that one always have to carry for a holiday.  The SLR is more sharp and produce better quality. Today’s plethora of good quality digital cameras is making it easier for everyone to take good pictures on their travels.

Falls 1999 – New England & Niagara Falls 

We joined a tour package (COSMOS New England tour) as well as making our own way to Niagara Falls and spending 2 days there. Holiday away from work is lovely!

Western Australia – Lighthouse and Lobster 

The next trip was a self-drive holiday from Perth. We drove to the vineyard region of Margaret River, and then up back to Geraldton just to catch the Lobster Processing Factory visit.
We lost one day due to the need to replace a damaged windscreen. In order to make up and meet the schedule, it was a straight 8 hours drive from Bunbury (nice place by the sea) from 6am to reach Geraldton just before 2pm, in time for the factory visit!  I did say lobster is one of my favourite subject, so the motivation was there! It was an enjoyable drive through long and open roads.

Country Roads of France

Then it was a guided tour to France with Insight Travel’s Country Roads of France.

On a tour bus, a grouse is one can’t stop at will to photograph any beautiful scenes along the way. Yet the France collection I find very colorful. I wish I had not quit remembering the French names of places we visited and had a better record of these…
Monaco is certainly interesting, with its houses on hillsides, marina… and the F1 was having a trial zooming around that afternoon!

New Zealand – Vineyards, Lobster Fishing

We were here on a tour package eleven years ago. This time since we drive we targeted different locations like the Catlins (waterfall)  and Kaikoura (lobster fishing). One main objective was to visit the sunflower fields in Oamaru. The fields were there, but by that time the flowers were not at the best form. It was really a miracle that it was in Motueka that we passed by a “wild” sunflower field. That to me made my day!

New Zealand is always so beautiful and memorable with its varied sights and scenic drives. I like to plan another drive holiday there again…

Israel – Walk in the Holy Land

I always thought Israel is a desert land, but was I pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery there. Hope to show more of the Holy Land…

Singapore - Garden in the City

No place like home! After visiting another beautiful country it is still always great to be… home!

Its rustic charms, tranquility, fresh air, open spaciousness, and the wonderful elements of nature give renewal to body and mind. A wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of city living.

As I filled my senses with images of the countryside – especially as an avid photographer – it must have created such a well of pleasant feelings and images within me.

I began to be transported in my dreams to fascinating places and events that exude such pleasant sensations and delightful moods reminiscent of countryside travel.

Riding into an underground forest, cool in subdued light;

sensation of flight in an open winged-contraption, soaring over a coast with endless green forests; 

walking through a quaint cobble-stoned village exuding old-world charms;

peering out of a steaming train that runs through colorful villages and under bridges…

and so many more!

What memorable images these were that I could, and love to, recall at will.

As you feast on these images, may you too be catapulted into your own world of simply delightful and enchanting moments. Sweet dreams !
